WATCH THE VIDEO HERE vivo has introduced the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro in China, as they had promised. These foldable phones share a similar design, including a circular rear camera housing, a carbon fiber hinge, an alert slider, and identical displays. The inner panel of the display measures 8.03″ diagonally with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses Samsung E7 material and can reach up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness. The cover display is 6.53″ with a resolution of 1172 x 2748 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, also capable of hitting 4,500 nits of peak brightness. Both X Fold3 models feature a lightweight carbon fiber hinge weighing only 14.98 grams, certified by TÜV Rhineland to withstand 500,000 folds. vivo has enhanced the drop resistance of the phones – the front is 11 times more resistant, and the back is 15 times more resistant compared to the X Fold2. The foldable display also includes an impact-resistant film along with UTG. Regarding dimensions, the X Fold3 Pro measures 11.2mm thick when folded, while the standard device is 10.2mm thick when folded. The X Fold3 weighs 219 grams, whereas the Pro model weighs 236 grams. The X Fold3 Pro is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and comes in two configurations: 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB, with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It features a custom vivo V3 imaging chip. The main camera on the X Fold3 Pro is a 50MP “ultra-sensing” unit with a 1/1.3” OmniVision OV50H sensor and an f/1.68 lens with OIS. Additionally, it features a 64MP 3x telephoto module and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle module. The selfie cameras utilize a pair of 32MP sensors. On the other hand, the X Fold3 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and can be configured from 12GB/256GB to 16GB/1TB. The main camera here is a 50MP Sony sensor, along with a 50MP portrait camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Selfie cameras remain the same. The Pro model boasts a larger battery of 5,700mAh, while the X Fold3 has a 5,500mAh battery. The Pro supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, whereas the X Fold3 supports 80W wired charging only. Both phones support dual-SIM 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and an IR blaster. The Pro model includes USB 3.2 Gen2, stereo speakers, Wireless Lossless Hi-Fi audio, and two 3D ultrasonic fingerprint readers. The X Fold3 uses a side-mounted fingerprint reader and has IPX4 water resistance, whereas the Pro model has IPX8 water resistance. Both foldables come in two colors: Eclipse Black and Solar White.
