The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has announced the discovery of an eight-year-old boy identified as Elijah wandering along the Imesi Ile/Otan Ile Road in Osun State.
In a statement issued by the NSCDC Spokesman, Osun command, Kehinde Adeleke on Thursday, said the boy was found in a state of confusion and unable to provide clear responses about his identity or family background.
He disclosed that he had been picked up by an unidentified man from Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to him, his mother had sent him to buy an item, but he could not remember his surname or provide any details about his parents.
Elijah further stated that his father is a farmer and that his entire family lives in Auchi. He added that the unknown man who picked him up later dropped him at Imesi Ile, leaving him stranded.
The NSCDC explained that community leaders from Imesi Ile and Otan Ile were invited to assist with identification, but no one was able to recognize the boy.
According to the command, the only consistent information provided so far is that Elijah resides with his parents in Auchi, Edo State, before being abandoned by an unidentified individual.
He is currently in the custody of the Osun State Command of the NSCDC, which is appealing to the public for credible information that could help reunite him with his family.
