WATCH: ABC News Tries Connecting Nashville Shooting To Recently Passed Legislation Banning Transgender Care To Minors

The devastating school shooting that occurred in Nashville has been attributed to Audrey Hale, a member of the transgender community who identified as he/him. Hale was a former student of the Christian school.

While reporting about the tragedy, ABC News connected the shooting to recent legislation passed in the state of Tennessee. The bill limited access to minors who wanted gender reassignment healthcare as well as putting limitations on drag shows.

ABC’s Terry Moran explained, “She’s a former student of the school and confirmed that Audrey Hale identified herself as a transgender person. The State of Tennessee earlier this month passed a bill that banned transgender medical care for minors, as well as a law that prohibited adult entertainment for minors, as well as a law that prohibited adult entertainment including male and female impersonators after a series of drag show controversies in that state.”

Six individuals, including three children, were killed. Hale, a 28-year-old resident of Nashville, carried two assault rifles and a pistol, but was eventually killed by the police.
