
Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A runner jumped into downtown Buffalo Bayou to escape a would-be thief, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Friday morning.
Authorities responded to the flooding call in the 700 Building in San Jacinto, Rusk, at approximately 6:55 a.m.
When they arrived, deputies said, they found a woman who had jumped ship to escape a man trying to rob her while she was walking along the waterfront.
A deputy jumped in to help the woman out of the water.
An ambulance took her to the hospital. Her condition was not immediately recognized.
The robber escaped. Officials did not have a description of this person.
