The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has dismissed rumors circulating on social media claiming that the institution is planning to shut down indefinitely due to security threats and activities of bandits.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the university authorities urged students, staff, and parents to completely disregard the false reports, describing them as the handiwork of mischief-makers aiming to disrupt the school’s smooth academic calendar.
The university administration clarified that there has been no security breach or direct threat to the campus that would warrant a suspension of academic activities.
The statement emphasized that the university environment remains peaceful, safe, and fully operational for learning and research.
According to the management, security measures on campus have been significantly reinforced in collaboration with state security agencies, local vigilance groups, and the institution’s internal security network to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
The University further noted that academic schedules, including ongoing lectures and preparations for examinations, are proceeding as originally planned.
The University advised members of the public to rely only on official communication channels for authentic information regarding the school’s operations, while warning rumor-mongers against spreading panic within the university community.
