The Plateau State women wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has staged a rally on Tuesday to protest the alleged plan of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to defect to the party.

The Convener of the rally and leader of the APC women in the state, Elizabeth Samson Yerse, vowed that they would resist any attempt by politicians to force Mutfwang on them.

Naijaonpoint reports that the women who staged the rally at the Secretariat Junction Bridge in Jos also used the opportunity to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The women who were clad in APC colours and chanting solidarity songs, carried placards with various inscriptions like “Vindictive Mutfwang, No Room in APC”, ‘APC is our Promised Land”, “We don’t want Pharaoh Mutfwang”, among others.

Yerse said the APC women would “shed their blood” to show their disapproval of Mutfwang joining the party.

Yerse, who is also the state coordinator of ‘Tinubu Torch Bearers’, accused those she alleged of working within the APC to pave the way for Mutfwang to decamp from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the APC of engaging in anti-party activity.

Yerse stated that their message was simple: “if a woman says no, you respect her choice not force yourself on her.”

She likened the APC to a woman with dignity, values, and principles, insisting that no amount of pressure or manipulation would make them accept someone they believe consistently undermines their party and its members.

It has been on record that the governor said he will never join the APC, he even went ahead and called the party an evil political party. He called the APC an evil political party.

“Let it be clearly understood, we in the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially the women wing, do not want Governor Caleb Mutfwang to join our party.

“APC is not a political haven for leaders who have failed to stabilize their own party. APC is not a dumping ground for politicians running from the crises they created.

“We say this with all sense of responsibility: Governor Caleb Mutfwang, we do not want you in the APC, not now, not later, not in any political rearrangement.

“Your style of leadership is not compatible with the disciplined, forward-looking direction of our party. You can not disengage the youth of Plateau State, the leaders of tomorrow, who were employed by the former Governor, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, and expect to be accepted into our party.

“The women wing of the APC rejects you from joining our beloved party, because we do not want division, indiscipline, or sabotage of the effort our National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yiltwada, has put into making this great party an envy of every right-minded Nigerian,” she said.
