Former special adviser to ex-Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, has stated that Nigerians need to pity the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at this point in time.

Naijaonpoint reports that Akande made this known via his YouTube channel, while speaking on the subject, ‘Why Wike is troubled.’

According to him, Wike has surrounded himself with several political battles and enemies, stressing that the Minister will continue fighting to hold Rivers State under his grip.

Akande also stated that Wike is politically living on President Bola Tinubu‘s lifeline, stressing that his political career would decline if sacked as Minister.

He said, “The moment you hear Wike, the immediate past, governor of Rivers, say in his ongoing political tours in the state say that he doesn’t want to hear in the state anything about PDP or APC anymore, but only Renewed Hope Family, know that the man has started to realize his own limitations, after all.

“Now, Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara had given us a hint of the unending palaver between Wike and himself with that song, ‘If you follow Tinubu don’t do corner corner. Fubara dey tell you something’.

“So, we must pity Wike. His own choice of successor is undoubtedly giving him a fight of his political life. We hope Nigerian political gladiators are learning a lesson or two from Wike’s dilemma.

“Democracy is not dictatorship. So when you fail to carry the people along, sooner or later, you’ll discover the foolishness of such action somewhere down the road.

“But the day of reckoning is not here yet for Mr Wike…he still has the gunpowder to deploy in his effort to keep his political structures in River State intact. He has a lot of money to sustain the fight.

“So Wike is going to fight some more in his attempt to hold Rivers State under his grip. I hope Wike is not already biting more than he can chew. After all, not every politician can be a Jagaban.

“Wike has a series of puzzles with persons who helped lift him up politically but he hasn’t been able to retire them from politics or to permanently or significantly reduce their influence.

“Peter Odili is there, Goodluck Jonathan too, especially his wife, Dr. Patience Jonathan and Chibuike Amaechi. Currently, Wike is living politically by a desperate lifeline from Tinubu.

“Tinubu is the one now sustaining Wike. Imagine what will happen to Wike if Tinubu removes him as a minister. Only Tinubu is around the periphery of Wike’s good book for obvious reasons.

“As for the other he has either discarded them or the relationship has completely run out. So, it is tough for our FCT minister. It is not easy even for the strongest general to accumulate so many battles and enemies all at once. So, we need to pity Wike.”
