We suspended Senator Abaribe after he claimed ADC leadership in Abia – APGA Chairman

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Abia, Sunday Onukwubiri, has confirmed that his party placed an indefinite suspension on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South, alleging that he claimed to be an ADC leader.

The news of Abaribe’s suspension was broken by Peter Nduka, State Secretary of APGA in Abia, after the State Executive Council meeting.

But Onukwubiri, who was responding to calls from DAILY POST on Saturday, said his party applied the rules in the APGA constitution to suspend Abaribe over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.

The APGA Chairman said that Senator Abaribe was given a twenty-four-hour ultimatum to refute his alleged claims of being a leader of ADC, but he snubbed the ultimatum.

“Yes, he was suspended for anti-party activities. About a month ago, we saw what was happening and we invited and told him to come on his own time but he did not respond.

”You can not be a member of APGA and at the same time you go and become a leader of ADC, that is an insult to my party.

” First of all, we gave him 24 hours to refute the claim that he is the leader of ADC. He neither responded nor called us to make explanations”, APGA Chairman, Onukwubiri said

Also, when contacted by DAILY POST about the development, the media aide to Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Uche Awom, declined comment.

“Until the time comes. For now, there is nothing to say”, Awom said.
