President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed to honour the legacy of late former President Muhammadu Buhari by building what he described as a “House of Joy and Prosperity” in his name.

Tinubu made the statement on Tuesday when the Buhari Organisation (TBO), led by former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, paid him a solidarity visit at the State House, Abuja.

The influential group, which represents the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc within the APC, formally endorsed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.

Al-Makura assured the President of the group’s loyalty, saying: “We are with you in loyalty, in person, and in purpose. May Almighty God grant you the wisdom and strength to continue leading our nation.”

He praised Tinubu and Buhari as visionaries who worked together to build a platform rooted in justice, sovereignty, and good governance.

“Mr. President, you and President Muhammadu Buhari shared more than a political alliance; you shared a vision of a Nigeria built on justice, economic sovereignty, and good governance. Together, you conceptualised and built a platform that remains our pride and our cause,” he said.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, also pledged the loyalty of former CPC members.

“Over 90 per cent of CPC’s pioneer leaders remain loyal. Today is the very first time that former members of the CPC have gathered in such large numbers to visit our President. I assure you of our unconditional support,” he added.

In his response, President Tinubu reassured his guests of his commitment to economic stability and food security. He revealed that Nigeria had already surpassed its 2025 revenue target, with no need for further borrowing.

“Nigeria is not borrowing. We have met our revenue target for the year, and we met it in August,” he said.

Tinubu also pointed to gains in the foreign exchange market. “The economy is stabilised; nobody is trading pieces of paper for exchange rate anymore. When I took over, it was N1,900 to a dollar. It’s N1,450 now. Rates have been stabilising,” he said.

On agriculture, the President unveiled plans for farm mechanisation across all regions to ensure food sovereignty.

“Our path to food security is clear. Every region will have a mechanised farm centre. We are committed to removing poverty from our land, and that is the work we have already started,” he said.

Tinubu then turned to his predecessor’s legacy, promising that Buhari would be remembered with honour.

“Part of what we inherited from Buhari was his honesty, transparency, and justice. You won’t have anything less than that. We will definitely put something together to build a Buhari House; that house will be a house of joy and prosperity,” he declared.
