We’re Doing Our Best To Tackle Insecurity – Army Chief, Shaibu Declares

COAS Shaibu speaking

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major-General Waidi Shaibu, has reassured Nigerians that the Nigerian Army is doing everything within its capacity to confront the nation’s security challenges.

Naijaonpoint reports that Shaibu gave the assurance on Wednesday, November 19, during an operational visit to the 1 Division, Nigerian Army Headquarters in Kaduna, describing the formation as a key component of Operation Fansan Yamma.

Addressing officers and soldiers, the Army chief commended their commitment and resilience in ongoing operations across the country.

“First and foremost is to appreciate the troops for their commitment and sacrifice and what they are doing to stem the tide of security across the country,” he said.

He explained that his tour was part of a routine assessment of formations and units under his command.

Shaibu noted that public expectations regarding security remain high, but maintained that the military was working tirelessly to deliver results.

“The armed forces, the army, we’re doing our very best to ensure that we tackle the security challenges across our country,” he said.

He added that although progress may appear gradual, Nigerians would soon begin to see improved outcomes.

“And with time, of course, we’ll start having very good results,” the COAS stated.

While addressing troops, Shaibu urged officers and soldiers to continue to demonstrate professionalism and remain committed to their assigned missions.

“My charge to them is that they should continue doing what they are doing professionally and remain committed towards the cause of the mission we are giving them and ensure mission success,” he said.

Shaibu stressed that the dedication and discipline of personnel remain central to achieving the Army’s operational goals.

Naijaonpoint understands that before addressing the troops, the COAS held a closed-door meeting with senior officers of the Division and later commissioned a newly constructed Soldiers’ Cafeteria, a facility aimed at improving welfare within the formation.
