Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has insisted that head coach Vincent Kompany is fully backed by the board despite his team going three games without a win in all competitions, Soccernet.football reports.

Kompany began his Bayern tenure with six consecutive wins, during which the team scored 29 goals, setting a new club record for a head coach in his first six matches.

However, since their 5-0 demolition of Werder Bremen, Bayern have failed to win in their last three games, including a 1-0 loss away from home to Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Just before the international break, the Bavarians were held to a draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, where Omar Marmoush scored a late equalizer in the fourth minute of added time.

Despite their recent dip in form, Kompany retains the confidence of the Bayern hierarchy, who appreciate his possession-based style of football.

“We are extremely happy with our coach,” Hainer told Bavarian broadcaster BR, as reported by Reuters.

“Because we play extremely attractive football. We had not seen that in the past few years at Bayern.

“On Sunday in Frankfurt (against Eintracht) it was dominant football we had not seen for a long time.”

Following the end of the international break, Bayern will be back in Bundesliga action this weekend. They welcome VfB Stuttgart to the Allianz Arena and failure to secure a point could cost them their lead atop the league standings.

The Bavarians will be heading into this particular encounter with some level of confidence giving their history against this weekend’s opponents.

Bayern have recorded 69 victories in 110 meetings with Stuttgart, the most by any team in Bundesliga history against a single opponent. No doubt, Kompany’s men will see this match as a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways.
