Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has declared that he will not obey a court order stopping him from speaking publicly about Omowunmi, the widow of late singer Mohbad, and their son Liam.
Naijaonpoint reports that the Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos had earlier placed a one-year restriction on Fabiyi and four others, warning them against making comments or inciting actions against Wunmi and her child.
The ruling was aimed at shielding them from harassment, threats, and public attacks that have trailed the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death and questions over his son’s paternity.
Despite this, Fabiyi, in a video shared on TikTok, maintained that he would continue to mention Wunmi’s name.
He argued that his actions were lawful and insisted that the matter was of public interest.
He accused Wunmi of attempting to use the court process to avoid police investigation and claimed that her steps amounted to misuse of power.
He said, “I have never committed a crime by mentioning your name, Wunmi. I will tell the judge that I will continue to mention your name, and I will give my reasons.
“The way I have been mentioning your name is legitimate and lawful. This is a public matter of great importance, and I will not stop.
“Wunmi, you went to get a court order that I and some others should not mention your name again, but I will continue to do so. Were you not in the house when Mohbad died? Have you forgotten that you also went to media houses and mentioned my name? Let us meet in court.
“We are talking about an innocent boy who was killed untimely. Who do you think you are dealing with?”
