Veteran Nollywood actor, Babatunde Bamgbode, professionally known as Baba Fokoko, has dismissed claims that the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo, promised them a monetary award during the 2023 election campaign of President Bola Tinubu.

Naijaonpoint reports that Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola were among hundreds of Nollywood celebrities who led campaigns for Tinubu’s presidency during the 2023 general elections.

Expressing regret two years after Tinubu’s victory, Alapini, in June 2025, lamented not being rewarded for his support.

Reacting to Alapini’s interview, Lalude called out MC Oluomo for not fulfilling what he promised them for the campaign.

However, Fokoko countered the claim by his colleagues in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV.

He asserted that MC Oluomo never promised to reward them.

The thespian said, “He didn’t promise to reward any of us. He didn’t promise me anything, but he had it in mind to treat us well. It’s been more than two years! He didn’t promise to give anyone anything.

“He brought foodstuffs to us to share during the campaign, and instructed us to distribute the remaining ones among ourselves. We went home with those foodstuffs more than two times. But he never promised to compensate us after the campaign”.
