The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has said that the Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is fully in support of any decision taken by Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Addressing reports of the possible resignation of Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya movement from the NNPP, Yusuf said the party members in Kano will follow the former governor wherever he goes.

Strongly regarded as the leader of the NNPP, Kwankwaso contested the 2023 Presidential elections under the party’s platform.

However, the governor while speaking to the 484 councillors from the 44 local government areas of the state said, “Wherever he (Kwankwaso) goes politically, his supporters will follow”.

Yusuf further appealed to the councillors to work closely with the government at the state level to deliver good governance to the people.

He said, “You are the eyes and ears of government at the grassroots. Go back to your wards, listen to the people, and present their most urgent needs. Once you do that, we will act,” Yusuf said.
