Onuachu’s time at Southampton has been largely forgettable.
After failing to secure a winter move to Turkey, the towering striker only found playing time and form in the second half of the season under manager Ivan Juric, scoring four goals and assisting once.
Unfortunately, his efforts were too little, too late, as the Saints were relegated by matchday 31. The 30-year-old enters the final year of his contract this summer with uncertainty surrounding his future.
6. Ola Aina – £40,000/week | £2m/year | Contract till June 2025
Before cupping an injury last week, Aina had been one of the standout right-backs in the league this season.

4. Taiwo Awoniyi – £50,000/week | £2.6m/year | Contract till June 2027
It’s been a frustrating campaign for Awoniyi, who has struggled with injury and fallen down the pecking order behind an in-form Chris Wood.
With limited chances to justify his wage, the striker will be hoping for a reset next season. His contract still has two years left, giving him time to bounce back.
3. Joe Aribo – £70,000/week | £3.64m/year | Contract till June 2026
Aribo is Southampton’s second-highest earner, behind only goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Leading the financial pack for Nigeria is Fulham’s Alex Iwobi.
The midfielder has been in sensational form this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 31 league appearances. His standout display against Liverpool — where he scored and assisted in a 3-2 win — reminded many of his quality.
With three years left on his contract, Iwobi is Fulham’s fourth-highest earner and Nigeria’s best-paid Premier League player. A European qualification for Fulham could well earn him an improved deal or lucrative bonuses.
