Samrat Choudhary is the party president of the BJP Bihar unit and he was elected to this post in March 2023. Samrat is the former Vice President of the BJP for the state of Bihar and he was elected for his second term being an MLC in early 2020 after his first term ended in 2019.

Samrat Choudhary’s family and education
Samrat Choudhary belongs to the Koeri community and he has been the OBC face of BJP for a long time. Samrat was born on the 16th of November in 1968 and he hails from Lakhanpur village of Munger. He was born to Parvati Devi while his father’s name is Shakuni Choudhary.
He hails from a village which is in Lakhanpur in the Tarapur block of the Munger district. He belongs to a family of politicians. Shakuni Choudhary who is his father has been an MLA and MP seven times and his mother Parvati Devi has been an MLA from Tarapur.
After finishing his schooling, he further attended Madurai Kamaraj University.

Samrat Choudhary career
Samrat Choudhary entered the field of politics in 1990, further he was sworn in as Minister of Agriculture in the Bihar government. He competed from Parbatta in early 2000 and later on in 2010, he was elected as an MLA.
Being a part of the Bihar Assembly election of 2020, Samrat was made a campaigner of the National Democratic Alliance but he became a part of controversy by giving a controversial statement on the caste equation of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
In early 2021, he was the Panchayati Raj minister in the expanded cabinet of Nitish Kumar from the BJP quota. Samrat also served as the Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Health in late 2014, Jitan Ram Manjhi Ministry, and Minister of Metrology and Horticulture in early 1999 at Rabri Devi University.
Recently in march 2023, Samrat Choudhary was appointed as the president of the Bhartiya Janata Party for the state of Bihar, replacing Sanjay Jaiswal. As per political analysts, a big step was taken by party leaders in order to create a strong foundation among the voters of Kushwaha or the koeri caste, which dominates many of the districts in Bihar.
