According To Our Reporter, Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has declared that any successor chosen by Governor Siminalayi Fubara will eventually clash with him, describing the pattern as a “spiritual problem” rather than mere politics. Watch full report
Citing Rivers State’s long history of succession crises, the cleric said outgoing leaders and their anointed successors often fall out shortly after power changes, leading to instability, court battles, and stalled development.
“If Fubara picks someone as his successor, that person will fight him. It’s not just politics, it’s spiritual,” he said during a church service.
Ibiyeomie stressed that the recurring conflicts are driven by pride and ambition, urging leaders to combine governance with humility, prayer, and moral reflection to break the cycle.
