The Senator representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, has expressed optimism that the forthcoming 2027 elections will be a walkover for President Bola Tinubu.
Naijaonpoint reports that Abejide, the Chairman of the House Committee on Customs, made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme on Friday.
Abejide stated that Nigerians are satisfied with President Tinubu and would give him another chance in 2027 because the ongoing reforms are yielding results.
The lawmaker claimed that poverty has fallen by more than 50% and that inflation has fallen as well.
He said, “Poverty has reduced below more than 50%. That’s what so many people have seen that this government is actually working, and the reforms are beginning to bring results.
“Part of the results is what I just told you now that food inflation has passed and people are now happy, the workers, especially in the state and the federal now receive their salary.
“I don’t think there is any state in Nigeria now that the civil servants are being owed. Is there any and civil servant.
“So I believe with this and what to come in this new year, by the time the election comes, it will be a walkover.”
