Film producer Femi Dapson has revealed reason he left his job at Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, where he worked closely with its founder, Bishop David Oyedepo.
Dapson said he left the church because he felt he had become too comfortable with the life he had built there.
Speaking in a conversation with Chude Jideonwo, he recalled moving to Lagos and taking a cleaning job as he started over.
He said his work at the church gave him access to a comfortable life where he wore suits and ties and met presidents, but he decided to leave in search of a new challenge.
He said: “I quit my job at Winners church, where I worked closely with Pastor Oyedepo, wore suits and ties, and met presidents. I felt too comfortable, so I moved to Lagos and started working as a cleaner.
“Eventually, I became a junior editor without a degree even when they were qualified degree holders who were more qualified but i know how to make mouth.I sold myself to the interviewer and what and what i will do to bring growths”.
Dapson said the cleaning job was one of the available opportunities he took after relocating to Lagos before he eventually found an opening in the media industry.
He later secured a position as a junior editor despite not having a university degree. According to him, other applicants had degrees and stronger academic qualifications, but he was able to convince the interviewer that he could contribute to the organisation.
Dapson has since built a career in the creative industry as a film and music video producer.
He is married to lifestyle influencer Simi Sanya. The couple got engaged in July 2025 and held their family introduction ceremony in November 2025.
They had their civil wedding in Lagos on February 18, 2026, followed by their traditional wedding in March 2026.
Simi announced their civil wedding on Instagram with the message, “Legally Hitched. Mr & Mrs Dapson To You Forever.”
