The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of over 2,000 workers of the Federal Capital Development Authority and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Naijaonpoint reports that the promotions followed the promotion examinations conducted between Tuesday, November 25 and Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, disclosed this on Wednesday, noting that the beneficiaries cut across 165 cadres within the FCTA and FCDA.

According to Ezeh, the large number of promoted officers reflects the scale of the recent exercise and the administration’s resolve to address career progression issues in the FCT public service.

Ezeh described the approval as a clear demonstration of the FCT Minister’s commitment to staff welfare and career advancement, assuring civil servants that promotion examinations would be conducted regularly.

He said, “This is a clear demonstration of the Honourable Minister’s commitment to staff welfare and career progression. Promotion examinations will be conducted as and when due.”

The commission chairman urged civil servants to begin early preparation for the 2025 and 2026 promotion exercises, stressing that only deserving officers would advance.

“Civil servants are encouraged to prepare early for the 2025 and 2026 promotion examinations, as only diligent and hardworking staff will be promoted,” he said.

Ezeh reiterated that the commission would continue to conduct promotion examinations using the Computer-Based Test format.

According to him, the approach will further strengthen the digital promotion examination platform recently introduced and approved by the FCT Minister.

He added that the digital system was designed to promote transparency, fairness and efficiency in the promotion process, while eliminating sharp practices.
