A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has berated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over the clash with a military officer during an enforcement exercise in Abuja.
Naijaonpoint reports that in a video circulating online, Wike can be seen in a heated argument with a soldier over access to a property within the nation’s capital.
The clash occurred when Wike and officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) attempted to gain access to a disputed plot of land allegedly linked to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (rtd).
In the viral video, Wike was captured insisting that the developers lacked valid ownership or building approval. When one of the soldiers resisted his directive, the minister, visibly angered, lashed out at him.
The video has since sparked public debate over the conduct of Wike and the soldier.
In a post via Instagram on Wednesday, Dele Momodu blamed Wike’s outburst on a lack of anger management and too much alcohol.
According to Momodu, Wike has wreaked enough havoc in Abuja with his desire for land grabbing and the primitive accumulation of wealth.
The veteran journalist further noted that Wike deserves President Bola Tinubu’s pity and urgent therapy in rehab.
He wrote, “He who the gods want to destroy, they first make mad…” I had warned MINISTER NYESOM WIKE endlessly about his lack of ANGER management but he never worked on himself… Too much alcohol is also not good for him physically, mentally and spiritually. It is the reason for his Messianic complex.
“When anyone has found favour and mercy in the Lord, he should learn not to play God… WIKE has wreaked enough havoc in ABUJA with his penchant for land-grabbing, and primitive accumulation of wealth, actually intoxicating him more than his alcoholism. He deserves the President’s pity, and prayers, and an urgent therapy in a rehab… What a tragic hero…”
