The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of two senior officials previously placed on suspension.
The officials recalled to their positions are: Dr. Danlami Hayyo, FCT Mandate Secretary for Education and Mr. Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).
In a statement released Wednesday in Abuja, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, confirmed that Wike directed both men to resume their duties effective immediately.
The Minister coupled the reinstatement with a stern warning against indiscipline among officials serving within the FCT Administration.
Recall that both officials had been suspended following separate incidents.
Dr. Danlami Hayyo was suspended on November 25 after issuing a circular that directed schools to close early due to alleged security concerns, while Mr. Michael Ango was suspended on December 5. Unlike Hayyo, no specific reason was publicly provided for Ango’s initial suspension at the time.
