Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for discovering him and making him a voice in the oil-rich state.
Naijaonpoint reports that Fubara expressed gratitude to Wike on Friday while receiving the New Telegraph Man of the Year Award.
Fubara admitted that without Wike, he would not have been governor, stressing that the Minister’s discovery gave him the loudness and made him who he is today.
He said, “I do not care how you interpret it or misinterpret it. I also dedicate this award to somebody who also discovered me not minding the situation, the Honorable Minister of the FCT, my oga, Nyesom Wike.
“Without him, I wouldn’t be standing here as governor. He discovered me and it’s a discovery that gave me this loudness. Thank you for everything.
“I also dedicate this award to the people of Rivers State that have shown support, quietness and maturity that has brought us this far.”
Meanwhile, Fubara has appointed a new Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
Naijaonpoint reports that the former Chief Press Coordinator, Nelson Chukwudi, was relieved of his duties.
he state government did not give any reason for Chukwudi’s dismissal.
Siminalayi Fubara dissolved the State Executive Council and relieved all Special Advisers of their appointments.
The cabinet dissolution was contained in a Government Special Announcement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday and sent to newsmen by the new Chief Press Secretary.
