Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could be sidelined until January 2025 following a hamstring injury which he sustained in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw against Brighton on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi has been consistent for Leicester City this season. The Nigerian midfielder has featured in all 15 of their Premier League games this season, registering four assists.

He was on duty for the Foxes when they welcomed Brighton to the King Power Stadium on Sunday. The Nigerian midfielder had a very good game, but he had to be taken off in the 54th minute, as he could not continue because of an injury.

At the time Ndidi was taken off, the game was 1-0 to Brighton, but it eventually in a 2-2 stalemate.

According to Physio Scout, the 27-year-old midfielder sustained a hamstring injury. But the extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed.

If it is a Grade 1 hamstring, Ndidi could be back in action for Leicester City’s Boxing day game at Liverpool.

However, if it is a Grade 2 hamstring, the Super Eagles star will definitely be sidelined until January 2026. And that will be a big blow for the Foxes, who are fighting hard to avoid relegation from the English top-flight.

Nonetheless, Ndidi has a decent injury record, as no hamstring injury has ever kept him out of action for more than 31 days. Coach Ruud Van Nistelroy will hope that his star player returns to action soon.
