Hollywood star Will Smith will not be starring in the upcoming Matrix movie despite promoting the flick.
In a social media post, Smith posted a cryptic message that led fans to believe that he would appear in the next movie.
“In 1997, the Wachowski’s offered Will Smith the role of Neo in The Matrix. Smith turned it down. He chose Wild Wild West, believing it was a better fit for him at the time,” he wrote on Instagram Story. “But the question remains: What would The Matrix have been like with Will Smith as Neo? Variety posted an article, and after seemingly confirming the news with movie creators, Warner Bros revealed he would not be starring in the project.
“It seems more likely that his cyberpunk-related venture will involve music, since Smith has teased that he’s getting ready to drop his first album in 20 years,” he added.
