The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been urged to strive for victory in all their games at the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria enter the 2024 WAFCON as favourites, as they are the perennial winners of the competition, having won nine.
However, they have been losing their tight grip on the continent, as they could only make fourth place in the last edition which South Africa won.
Nonetheless, the Super Falcons can fancy their chances of reclaiming their crown. The energy of the team seems high, as the Nigeria Football Federation have tagged this campaign “Mission X”, as they are looking to lift their tenth title.
Ahead of the tournament, Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has revealed her target. The Bay FC star is aiming to bang in the goals that will lead the team to success.
“For me personally, I want to score goals, it’s what I love to do,” Oshoala told NFF TV.
“It’s been a while I’ve played with the national team because there’s so many things going on in my personal life. But wherever I’m here, on the pitch, and help my teammates gain the three points in each game we play.”
Asisat Oshoala opens up on what Mission X means to her, returning to the Super Falcons, and her message to Nigerians back home.

Oshoala also advised her teammates to fight hard in all their game and target victories.
“My expectation of the team is as always: give 100 percent on the pitch, try to win every game we play, and also treat every game as equal and as important,” Oshoala added.
Oshoala is one of the biggest players in the competition based on her achievements as a player. The 30-year-old veteran attacker, who turns 31 in October is one of the deadliest strikers to come out of the continent.

She played her best football at Barcelona, where she won the UEFA Champions League. Oshoala scored 117 goals in 162 appearances for Barcelona before leaving for Bay FC last year
When is the Super Falcons’ next WAFCON game?
