‘Witchcraft Logic’ – Lawyer Slams Akpabio, Alleges Use Of Senate To Pursue Vendetta Against Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and Akpabio

The counsel to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Victor Giwa, has accused Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of using his office to wage a personal vendetta against the embattled lawmaker from Kogi Central.

Giwa, who spoke on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday, faulted the Senate’s decision to stop Akpoti-Uduaghan from resuming legislative duties after serving her six-month suspension.

Naijaonpoint reports that earlier on Tuesday, the Senate, in a letter signed by the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, acknowledged receiving Natasha’s notice to resume on September 4, 2025, which she said marked the end of her suspension.

However, the Senate leadership rejected her request, insisting she could not return yet, a move Giwa described as unlawful and vindictive.

“This is a kind of witchcraft logic the Senate is putting forward. It doesn’t make sense. Even a law student will know better,” Giwa said.

The lawyer argued that barring Natasha after completing her suspension amounted to punishing her twice for the same offence.

“It is like asking an inmate to serve once more after completing his jail term. The institution of the Senate has been desecrated in this manner for Akpabio to use the office of the Senate President to pursue what is now a personal vendetta,” he added.

Giwa also questioned the Senate President’s insistence on keeping Natasha out of the chamber even after she had served her punishment.

“It brings a question to whether really there is veracity in what Natasha said. Why Akpabio will not allow time and history to vindicate him? After this woman has served her punishment, you are still saying she can’t resume her function,” he said.
