Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has revealed that his administration is using advanced technology to closely monitor bandit activities across the state.
Speaking in an interview reported by Vanguard on Monday, February 16, 2026, Governor Lawal responded to questions about terrorism and insecurity, issues often linked with Zamfara whenever the state is mentioned.
He admitted that insecurity remains a serious challenge but insisted that the state is far from helpless. According to him, technology now plays a major role in tracking criminals and preventing attacks before they happen.
Governor Lawal disclosed that satellites and drones are being used to observe bandits in real time, adding that every movement is instantly shared with security agencies. These include the police, military, Department of State Services, and Civil Defence.
He stressed that communication among these agencies is immediate and well coordinated, improving response time.
The governor, however, acknowledged that challenges persist, saying constant vigilance is still necessary. He stated, “With technology, every movement of any bandit, I have it in my system.”
