Withdraw Your Book And Shred It To Pieces, Bode George Tells Bisi Akande

George, who is the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland, however, called for ceasefire, asking those attacked in the book to sheathe their swords.

He spoke in a chat with newsmen in Lagos on the sidelines of a reception for the convener of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Mr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who recently joined the PDP.

George spoke hours after the Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, responded angrily to Akande’s book, dismissing the allegations against him in the controversial.

Akande had said Adebanjo pestered former Lagos Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to build his Lekki House.

According to the former Osun Governor, Adebanjo is “a blank politically-minded leader who does not have what it takes to contest political positions.”

On the issue of restructuring, Akande noted that what APC promised was devolution of power and not restructuring.

Chief George who expressed dismay over the development called for calm and asked Akande to apologise openly while withdrawing the book.

He also promised to prevail on another Yoruba leader, Chief Olu Falae not to react to the book as he has promised to do.

“Baba Akande must apologise openly because people are reacting. In fact Chief Falae was so angry and he said he was going to take his time to react. I want to plead with Baba Falae….

“You know the worst thing was, of all those statements made he was now praising Bola Tinubu…”

He said the younger generation is watching the present episode and called on the leaders to sheathe their swords, saying they should not be washing their dirty linens outside.

Two Killed As Rival Cults Clash In Lagos Island

“No less than two persons have reportedly been killed during a clash between rival gangsters in the Idumota area of Lagos State.

According to Punch, the clash which started on Thursday evening degenerated into Friday morning leading to the death of the victims.

It was gathered that clash involved hoodlums from Idumota, Balogun, Martins and Oluwole areas of Lagos Island.

It also affected trading and other commercial activities on the Island on Friday.

The hoodlums reportedly shot sporadically into different directions as they displayed assorted arms and ammunition.

Some shops were also said to have been shut down but security agencies on ground assured market men and women to open their shops.

But they only mounted positions to forestall any form of resurgence of violence or hoodlums returning to take advantage of the situation.

Troops Neutralise Three Kidnappers Who Participated In Jos prison Break; Recover Arms And Ammunition

“Three members of a notorious kidnap syndicate have been neutralised by Troops of Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State.

Military Information Officer, Major Ishaku Takwa, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, January 21, said that the syndicate has been on the watchlist of Operation SAFE HAVEN and believed to have masterminded the recent kidnap incidences on the Plateau.

The syndicate is also believed to have participated in the Jos prison jail break on 28 November 2021.

The syndicate met its waterloo when troops of Operation Safe Haven tracked them to Gyero general area where they plan and carry out their nefarious activities.

The kidnappers on sighting the troops opened fire. Our troops responded with superior fire power resulting in the killing of three members.

Items recovered from the syndicate includes, one AK-47 Rifle, 2 AK-47 rifle magazines, 101 live rounds of 7. 62mm ammunition and one tricycle (Keke Napep).

Other items recovered include 2 phones, 2 sharp knives and 2 military headwarmers.

While commending the resilience of the troops for another successful operation, the Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General Ibrahim Ali, also warned kidnappers and perpetrators of evil to stay clear of Plateau State as he has restated his determination to make the state unbearable for all criminals to operate.

General Ali further urged law abiding citizens to cooperate with security agencies and promptly report any suspicious movement in their area.
