A Nigerian woman has called for a mass protest against WAEC after her child failed English, claiming that the exam was conducted at midnight.
This was revealed in a post shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the video attached to ..., the woman voiced her frustration, urging mothers across the country to rise up and demand accountability from WAEC.
She alleged that the majority of students who sat for this year’s WAEC examinations failed, particularly in core subjects like English and Mathematics, and blamed the examination body for poor coordination.
According to her, many candidates started their exams at noon and were still writing papers late into the night.
She said: “Mothers, come out o. It’s like WAEC wants its end. Those that passed aren’t many—most of them failed Maths and English. Is it supposed to be like that? When the kids started their exam by noon and ended it around 11 midnight, is that how it’s done?”
“The WAEC exam of this year is not it. Mothers, come out. Let’s shout at them so they can do something. Where is exam done by midnight? The WAEC exams they did—none of them is good. It’s bad.”
The woman continued her outcry in the video, which has since drawn reactions from concerned Nigerians in the comment section.
