A Nigerian woman, Faith Onyinyechi, has opened up about her previous marriage, revealing that her ex-husband allegedly married his side chick just seven days after she left what she described as a toxic relationship.
Faith, whose traditional wedding is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, shared her story in a Facebook post while reflecting on her journey from her failed marriage to preparing for a new chapter in her life.
According to her, her ex-husband had once professed his love for her and claimed he could not live without her or bear to see her unhappy. However, she alleged that his behaviour later changed drastically.
Faith claimed that her ex-husband began spending nights at another woman’s home and subjected her to repeated physical abuse.
She said the situation became so toxic that she eventually decided to leave the marriage and return to her father’s house with their daughter, fearing that the situation could result in serious harm to either of them.
Faith alleged that just seven days after she moved out, her ex-husband married the woman she suspected of being his side chick.
She said the development made her realise that he had allegedly been in a relationship with the woman while they were still married.
According to Faith, her ex-husband later taunted her with photos of his new life and allegedly told her that no other man would marry her.
However, she said she has since moved on and is now in a much better place.
Faith further claimed that life eventually became difficult for her ex-husband and his new wife, forcing them to relocate to the village.
As she prepares to remarry, Faith’s story has sparked reactions online, with many social media users discussing toxic relationships, domestic abuse, infidelity and the possibility of finding happiness after a failed marriage.

“He who laugh last laugh best. In 2022, me and my ex husband had issues, the marriage was so toxic that instead anyone of us to injure or k!ll ourselves I decided to leave the marriage for safety and went to my father’s house cox I don’t have any other place to go to,” she wrote.
“Not up to 7 days in my father house my ex got married to another woman. Then I realized that him and this woman has been dating even while I was with him. Man that can’t stay without me started sleeping at his side chic house, a man that cannot stand seeing me being sad started beating me non stop.
“He began to laugh at me, sending me series of him and his side chic traditional marriage photos saying that he has moved on, that let him see who will come and marry me.
“Life was so so tough for me coz I left the marriage with our baby girl he left all the responsibilities for me.
“Today God did it for me. Saturday is my traditional marriage. And today life is not going well with him at all, things are so so tough for him and his new wife. As a matter of fact he is now base in the village. HE WHO LAUGH LAST LAUGH BEST.”
