January 29 is going to be an extraordinary day for Xbox Game Pass members, as the subscription service will receive an epic game released in 2024 for free. The catalog has been receiving several great games this year, and it’s only the first month. There are several fantastic titles added to Xbox Game Pass in January 2026, including the day-one release MIO: Memories in Orbit.
This month has also seen a few different hits, but one of them truly stands out. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II will join Xbox Game Pass in late January, allowing certain members of the subscription service to gain access to what is considered one of the best games from 2024. The announcement was made on Xbox Wire, featuring the second batch of January games. The title won’t be available for all subscribers, but a fair share should have access to it once it arrives.

Play This Warhammer Game On Consoles, PC, Or Cloud
As part of the second wave of Xbox Game Pass additions, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II joins Xbox Game Pass on January 29. You’ll be able to play the game on Xbox Series X/S consoles, PC, and via cloud gaming. The third-person shooter game will be available for members of the Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass tiers, leaving only the members of the Essential tier locked out of this free benefit.
Titles added to the subscription service’s catalog tend to stay available for months or even a year, so you should have plenty of time to start playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. Even so, I do recommend starting sooner rather than later because of the sheer amount of content the game has to offer – something that can be significantly extended when playing with friends in its multiplayer mode.

The Warhammer Game Has Great Scores
This is not a game you want to miss out on. The shooter created by Saber Interactive is one of the best games of 2024, and if you’re a Game Pass member, you can essentially play it for free. On Metacritic, it boasts an 82 Metascore and an 8.0 user score. In Screen Rant’s review of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, we give it a 4/5 score.
We praise the game’s seamless experience and hooking gameplay loop, as well as how well-polished it is, and the fact that it sticks to its guns in what it aspires to be: a well-crafted AAA game that doesn’t fall into the live-service model. You don’t have to have played other Warhammer games to enjoy Space Marine II, so it’s only a matter of using your Xbox Game Pass subscription to start playing for free once it arrives.
