The once-tight brotherhood of YBN is unraveling further, as YBN Nahmir and Almighty Jay continue to trade public shots over what really caused the crew’s split.
In a recent TikTok video, Nahmir fired back at Jay’s claims that their friendship fell apart because he moved to Los Angeles and got involved with gang life.
The “Rubbin Off the Paint” rapper made it clear that, in his eyes, that version of the story couldn’t be further from the truth.
“If you gonna say that, let me say what it really is,” Nahmir said. “YBN didn’t break up because I was hanging with gangbangers. YBN broke up because you did some foul stuff and almost got my mom killed.”

The rapper didn’t elaborate on what allegedly happened but insisted that he’d kept quiet about the situation for years out of respect, but decided to speak out after Jay’s recent comments reignited old wounds.
Almighty Jay, meanwhile, brushed off Nahmir’s accusations. In a follow-up video, he referenced being attacked and robbed in a studio earlier this year, but didn’t address Nahmir’s shocking claim about his mother.

Instead, Jay suggested his former friend was “bringing up stuff from 2019” and said he’d been “moving like a goofy” back then.
Alongside Cordae, who went on to find major solo success, Nahmir and Jay were part of a movement that captured the energy of the late 2010s. By 2020, however, the group had officially dissolved, with Cordae dropping the YBN name entirely and the remaining two drifting apart.
