KANO — A frontline APC stalwart, Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, on Sunday, said the leadership of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has placed the party on a strong footing to win the 2027 general elections.
Illiyasu Kwankwaso said Yilwatda’s inclusive approach to party leadership had strengthened unity within the APC, consolidated its structures and expanded its membership across the country.
In a congratulatory message to Yilwatda on his 58th birthday, the Kano-born politician described the national chairman as a committed leader whose tenure had promoted cohesion, inclusiveness and internal democracy within the ruling party.
According to him, Yilwatda’s efforts to strengthen the APC have already produced visible political gains, citing the party’s growing presence across the country and its control of several state governments.
Dr. Kwankwaso also commended the APC chairman for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and promoting policies aimed at advancing good governance, democratic values and national development.
He expressed confidence that the progress recorded under Yilwatda would translate into electoral victories for the APC in 2027, particularly in the North.
“The party chairman should go to sleep with his eyes closed because Northerners have, based on President Tinubu’s good governance, agreed to massively vote for him and all other party contenders,” he said.
Kwankwaso specifically predicted victory for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and APC candidates contesting the Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly seats in Kano.
He further thanked Yilwatda for what he described as his wisdom in keeping the APC united, saying the national chairman had continued to treat the party as one family.
He prayed for Yilwatda to enjoy many more years in good health, wisdom and strength, while wishing him continued success in his service to the APC and the nation.
