A Police Inspector, Mohammed Bulama, from the Police Mobile Force (PMF) 41 in Yobe State, has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of a 39-year-old civilian, Abdulmalik Dauda, in Damaturu, the state capital.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a heated argument over “uncleared transactions” that took place in the Zango area of Damaturu, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest.

According to Dungus Abdulkarim, a police spokesperson in the state, the incident occurred on September 29, 2024.

He confirmed that Bulama has been apprehended and an investigation into the homicide has begun.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has mandated an immediate investigation into the homicide involving Inspector Mohammed Bulama, who is attached to PMF 41 Division Damaturu,” he stated.

The spokesperson further noted that Bulama is currently in police custody pending internal disciplinary measures and legal proceedings.

CP Garba Ahmed condemned Bulama’s actions, extended his condolences to Dauda’s family, and assured the public that justice would be served.
