Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has spoken out following the release of his colleague, Baba Ijesha.
Kemi Filani reported on Friday, November 15th, that the famous actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, professionally known as Baba Ijesha, has finally been released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Announcing husrelease, Yomi, in a post shared on his Instagram page on Friday evening, stated that he was freed after being cleared by the Appeal Court.
He stated that Ijesha is not just back, but is better. He expressed his happiness that he had been cleared, as the story was a charade.
The controversial actor alleged that Comedian Princess groomed the minor, engaged in child pornography with her co-travellers, and subjected the girl to re-trauma.
“You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.
I am also happy you were cleared by the APPEAL COURT of ever having sex/defiling any child/minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade. We live in a terrible world, where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth.
Let it be on record that:
3 Princess Comedian groomed the girl(minor) for sexual activities. This is coupled with negligence because sperm was found on the girl days after Baba Ijesha was arrested, and it is not for Baba Ijesha. The test confirmed she had recently lost her virginity then.
Etc
We, as a Human Rights Organisation, never and will never condone or support any form of sexual abuse, let alone on children or minors. We will continue to fight against selective justice, abuse of fundamental human rights of any person, and fight against organised crime, like in the case of Baba Ijesha.
Prerequisites for Princess Comedian actions are errored. It has no propensity in law. Justice on two left.
Yomi Fabiyi”.
Recall that in 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter. He was thereby sentenced to 16 years imprisonment but was to face only 5 years consecutively.
Speaking out, Yomi, who was present in the courtroom, clamoured for the actor to have a right to appeal. He stated that Baba Ijesha still had ample opportunities to challenge the court’s ruling until he had exhausted all his limits. He also demanded for Princess to be punished for parental negligence.
In October of 2022, the Yoruba actor celebrated the embattled actor’s birthday. He took to his Instagram page to share a photo of the embattled actor accompanied by a heartwarming caption and a powerful prayer.
Last year, in an interview, Fabiyi claimed that there was no evidence that Ijesha slept with her; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. He stated that Princess called Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the man who slept with the girl was walking freely, and her age wasn’t 14, as many claimed.
