Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, has come under fire after a video of her dancing at the grave of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti went viral on social media.
Naijaonpoint reports that she visited the gravesite and shared the moment on her Instagram page, showing herself performing a lively tribute dance.
Korra explained that the performance was her own way of honouring Fela.
She said she chose the dance because the late musician was known for his love of bold expression and energetic women.
According to her, the act was meant to reflect the liveliness associated with Fela’s life and music.
She also stated that Seun Kuti accepted the gesture during her visit and saw it as fitting the late icon’s style.
