A young Nigerian woman has been attacked and has had her clothes torn off in a public confrontation after being accused of involvement with another woman’s boyfriend, in an incident that has sparked concern online.
According to accounts of the video available to us, the confrontation escalated when the girlfriend of the man in question attacked the other woman on the street, tearing her clothing during the altercation.
A man believed to be the individual both women were reportedly involved with attempted to intervene and separate them, but was unable to stop the assault before it escalated.
Public attacks involving forced stripping remain a deeply degrading form of assault, regardless of the underlying dispute, and such incidents raise serious concerns beyond the relationship conflict itself, including questions of physical safety and whether any formal report was made to authorities following the altercation.
The identities of those involved and the location of the incident have not been disclosed.
