Mallam Garba Shehu, former presidential spokesperson, says a child named Muhammadu Buhari has been awarded a full scholarship following his captivating performance at the launch of Shehu’s memoir, According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesman’s Experience.

In a statement personally signed and released on July 12, Shehu said the boy, who shares a name with former President Muhammadu Buhari, stunned the audience with his striking resemblance in diction and mannerisms, and delivered a poetic recital that became the highlight of the event.

“The young lad captured the hearts of all in attendance. Through his striking resemblance in mannerisms and diction to the former President whose name he bears, and with a poetic recital that echoed both depth and promise, he became the cynosure of all eyes,” Shehu said.

Shehu announced that the child’s moment of brilliance has now been rewarded with a full education scholarship by Alhaji Lawal Garba, Chairman and CEO of Trobell Nigeria.

According to Shehu, the scholarship will cover the remainder of Muhammadu Buhari’s primary education, pay in full for six years of secondary education in any school of the family’s choice and university sponsorship after successful completion of WAEC.

“This is more than a scholarship. It is a seed of hope, a recognition of talent, and an investment in the future of a child whose brilliance lit up a room of statesmen, diplomats, journalists, and citizens alike,” he added.

Shehu also called on other Nigerians of goodwill to emulate the act and support children whose gifts hold the potential to shape the country’s future.
