Sonia, the ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has tendered a heartfelt apology to him.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram story, she admitted that ending a relationship or friendship is always challenging for her, hence, why she is always cautious about the people she brings into her life.

She noted how she and Jude had journeyed car together and she is grateful for the grace God has bestowed upon their lives. She noted how they both struggled to make the marriage work even in the face of divorce. She expressed how she understands how careful he was to keep his family in the dark about what was happening behind closed doors, knowing how hard he fought to be a loving father to their children despite family pressures.

She stated that she is under the emotional pain he is experiencing due to his separation from his beloved family despite his efforts to portray a false sense of happiness on Instagram to appease them. Describing Jude as a wonderful man, she promised to always be there for him physically and spiritually as she apologized to him for the negative impacts his posts had on him.

“Many individuals assert that I possess a powerful, mysterious allure, which is why I am particularly cautious about the people I allow into my life. Ending a relationship or friendship is always challenging for me. My beloved superstar, we’re journeyed far together, and I’m truly grateful for the grace God has bestowed upon our lives. We both struggled to make this work, even in the face of divorce. I understand how careful you were to keep your family in the dark about what was happening behind closed doors, knowing that it would start another fight. I know how hard you fought to be a loving father to your children despite family pressures. I understand the emotional pain you’re experiencing due to your separation from your beloved family (John 10:10) despite your efforts to portray a false sense of happiness on Instagram to appease them. You are a wonderful man, and I will always be there for you physically and spiritually. I am using this opportunity to express my sincere apologies for the negative impact my posts may have had on you. Given the nature of your job, peace is essential for you and because of your purity, I bear no resentment towards you. I believe the greatest blessing for a child is to be born to a loving mother (not evil). We’ve both forgiven each other and realized our mistakes, it would be for divine grace and strength from God to help us co-parent harmoniously and ensure our children feel a sense of pride in us. I wish you all the best”.

This is coming a day back after she shadily reacted to the news of him expecting another child with his fiancee. Sonia made it known that she was unbothered by the rumors as she was on a campaign tour. She, however, vowed to return before the naming ceremony.

Replying to her, Jude noted how she was obsessed with him. The footballer noted how even the devil finds time to rest as he hopes she finds peace. Exposing her to her lies, he stated that he is too busy to stress about irrelevant things.

Hitting back at him, Sonia stated that she wouldn’t reply to him because she knows he is still hurt that she wasted his flight tickets for not showing up.

Sonia got married to Jude Ighalo in 2009 but separated in 2020 after 10 years of marriage. Since their separation, the couple have been embroiled in social media drama as Sonia hasn’t refrained from taking shots at him.

Last year, she confirmed her marital stance with Jude, revealing that they separated in 2019 but got back in 2021 and pulled the plug in 2022 without his signature. She claimed that the footballer crawled back again to her and she accepted because of the kids. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because of his family.
