Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has given her daughter, Simi, permission to operate her social media accounts herself.
As part of her 18th birthday celebration, Laide announced that she has permitted her mini-me to operate her accounts, noting that she is now officially legal.
“I now permit you to begin to operate your social media accounts by yourself in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen, my baby is now officially legal”.
Kemi Filani reported on Thursday that the actress’s first child had turned 18 and, to celebrate her day, Laide reflected on her birthday while appreciating her daughter for loving her exactly as she is, accepting her, understanding her and loving her.
In another post, she shared photos of herself and her daughter twinning in matching outfits, telling her never to forget who she is or allow anyone or anything to make her question her worth.
A few years ago, the mother of three revealed why she kept her daughter away from the public. She stated that her daughter was too hot, and she still had five more years to go before publicising her handle.
Last year, Laide in a chat, revealed that she was the one who first introduced her daughter to clubbing and alcohol at age 17.
The shocking revelation didn’t sit well with social media users, who mercilessly dragged her.
Reacting to the backlash, on her Instagram page, Laide said she didn’t introduce her daughter to alcohol but only took her to a club. She explained that it was to give her a bit of exposure towards the future, and she isn’t as bad as people think.
In a follow-up post, Laide made it known that she and her daughter were innocent, and she never introduced her to alcohol.

In another post, the special adviser to the Osun State Governor promised to reveal how her daughter played a pivotal role in her life. According to her, her daughter, Simi, had an important role in Laide’s becoming who she was.
