One person has been killed in a recent attack by armed men in two villages in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the gunmen during the attack also left one other person injured.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert who disclosed this on X said the gunmen launched an attack in Margif–Kopmur Road at about 8:30 am on Thursday.
According to Makama, the attackers opened fire on residents of the communities without warning or provocation.
He said the victims have been identified as Michael Lontukun from Njin Kopmur village in Mushere West, and Stephen David from Kopmur village in Margif Ward.
Details show that while David sustained some gunshot wounds and was rushed to the General Hospital in Horop for medical attention.
The other victim, Lontukun was said to have died instantly during the attack. His family have claimed his body for burial after declining an autopsy.
He added that security operatives from the Nigerian Army and the Sector 5 Commander of the Special Task Force (STF) have been swiftly deployed to the locations.
