The Nationwide protest which started on the 1st of August 2024, was in response to the hardship experienced by Citizens of Nigeria. “I sympathize with the families and relatives of those killed in the protests. Tinubu added, “We must put an end to further bloodshed, violence, and destruction.” Tinubu highlighted economic success, adding, “Aggregate government revenues have more than doubled, hitting over N9.1 trillion in the first half of 2024 compared to the first half of 2023.” Tinubu announced a rise in oil production to 1.61 million barrels per day, reviving investor interest in the sector. Tinubu announced multiple youth empowerment measures, including a student loan plan, a Digital and Creative Enterprises program, and a variety of skill development schemes. The President concluded by urging unity and patience, stating, “Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation.
