WATCH THE VIDEO HERE NINETEEN out of the 38 directors who were shortlisted for the position of permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service did not pass the qualifying examination. A memo, signed yesterday by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee and shared by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), revealed that the exams took place on Monday, November 11, 2024. In October, the Federal Government, through the OHCSF, initiated the process for selecting new permanent secretaries to fill vacancies in eight states. Providing an update on the current process, Eno Olotu, the Director of Press at OHCSF, stated, “Of the 38 eligible directors who took the exam, 19 have passed the first stage and will advance to the second stage, where their proficiency in using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations will be assessed on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.” Olotu emphasized that the recruitment process follows a comprehensive three-stage procedure aimed at ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are chosen. Candidates who succeed in the second stage will move on to the final stage on Friday, November 15, 2024, where they will present before a panel comprising senior bureaucrats and private sector representatives.
