Sulaiman Argungu said the decision of the national leadership of the party to go ahead with the Rivers State congress followed a court ruling that vacated an earlier order that restrained the party from conducting the congress. The APC National Secretary stressed that the party remains committed to due process and the rule of law. He urged party stakeholders and members to work towards the success of the congress in the state. “The scheduled All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State Elective Congresses scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, will proceed as planned. “The ex-parte order in Suit No: PHC/2699/CS/2024 between Peter Ohochukwu & Anor vs. His Excellency, Abdullahi Ganduje & 5 Ors, which initially restrained the APC from conducting the congress, has been vacated. “The Rivers State High Court has ruled that there is no order preventing the APC from organizing the Rivers State Elective Congress. “In light of this development, the APC will proceed with the Congress, reaffirming its commitment to due process and the rule of law,” the National Secretary’s statement read in part.
