Nigerians have been urged to remain committed to building a stronger and more inclusive nation in this New Year.
This call was made to citizens and leaders by the lawmaker who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in her New Year’s message.
Akpoti-Uduaghan while felicitating with the people called on citizens to embrace unity, resilience, and collective responsibility as Nigeria steps into 2026.
Describing the new year as more than a mere change in calendar, Akpoti-Uduaghan said this 2026 should be a moment of reflection and renewed determination to build a stronger and more inclusive Nigeria.
“As we step into this New Year, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. A new year offers us not just a change in date, but a renewed opportunity to reflect, rebuild, and rise stronger together as one people,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.
Also, reflecting on the challenges of the past year, the Senator acknowledged the economic pressures, security concerns, and social uncertainties faced by many Nigerians, while commending the resilience and courage demonstrated by citizens across the country.
“The year past came with its share of trials, uncertainties, and lessons. Yet, through it all, our people have continued to show remarkable resilience, courage, and hope. These qualities define us and remind us that no challenge is greater than our collective will to overcome,” Akpoti-Uduaghan noted.
She emphasised the importance of national unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect across ethnic, religious, and cultural divides, describing Nigeria’s diversity as its greatest strength.
Akpoti-Uduaghan also urged Nigerian youths to remain focused, innovative, and forward-looking, stressing that their energy and creativity are critical to national transformation.
“I encourage our youths to remain steadfast, pursue knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and believe in their capacity to shape a better future for themselves and for Nigeria,” she said.
