Hon. Chief Emmanuel Obasi has congratulated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his birthday, which coincides with the 2026 New Year celebration.
Obasi, who is the Special Adviser on Federal Project Implementation in Kogi State, described January 1 as a symbolic day that marks both the beginning of a new year and the governor’s birth.
He acknowledged the governor’s leadership style and his approach to governance since assuming office.
Obasi noted that Governor Ododo’s administration has attracted public attention within a short period, describing his leadership as people oriented.

LETTER TO MY BOSS, HIS EXCELLENCY, ALH AHMED USMAN ODODO, FCA, GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE, ON HIS 2026 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION*
Your Excellency, today being 1st January, 2026 is acknowledged and celebrated worldwide as New Year, irrespective of religious, tribal, linguistic, political, social and economic consideration. Incidentally, this particular day represents also your natal entry into the world. You are therefore, a man of destiny whose birthday is celebrated by all, incidentally or coincidentally.
As your beneficiary, admirer and supporter, I feel highly elated to join millions of Kogites and Nigerians to send my best wishes to you as you celebrate your natal day on this New Year today.
This auspicious day is also a good opportunity to acknowledge and equally thank you immensely for being a good father, brother, friend and boss and for the love, care and commitment you have publicly displayed in our official and personal relationship and in serving the people of Kogi State.
Your Excellency, while some people are celebrating your birthday as a coincidence of New Year season, many people are intentional in celebrating you for proving them right, for not disappointing them and for the great wisdom, understanding, knowledge, humility, loyalty, servant-leadership style and unprecedented achievements you have recorded in just few years in office, because they campaigned and vouched for you when some people, like Thomas, were in doubt.
Your Excellency, surprisingly, some others are openly celebrating you for proving them wrong, because they never knew that you could be different from what they anticipated. They are celebrating you for not becoming what they feared you may be, a bad leader.
Surely, across the length and breath of Kogi State, from Ofu to Dekina to Ajaokuta and Lokoja: from Kabba-Bunu, Yagba and Mopamuro and to Ogori-Magongo and Okehi, Okene etc, the people of Kogi State are happy and are celebrating your birthday on a New Year day today.
They are celebrating you because through your deeds you have proved Proverbs 29:2 beyond all reasonable doubt that, “When the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice….” And Kogi people are actually rejoicing.
Your Excellency, I have heard you speak in many public functions and each time I got thrilled by the depth of your wisdom, knowledge and understanding of issues as if you had been a Governor before. I have therefore come to believe that all through your life journey, God really prepared you well for this Governorship.
Your Excellency, whenever I see and hear the stories of people that you have touched their lives- the poor and needy, widows and orphans and surprisingly, even the ordinary people, the rich and super rich, I am convinced that being good and kind-hearted runs in your blood stream. You didn’t learn them anew and certainly not because you are a Governor. You’re a real full-blooded good man and your goodness speaks volumes. The good you have done even before you became the Governor of Kogi State and the so much good you have done and are still doing as Governor will always speak for you in high and low places, before God and among men.
As we approach 2027, be rest assured that everything considered, those who voted for you in 2023 will still vote for you again; those who opposed you are scattered and you will see them no more and those who were neutral will cross-over to your side and vote for you. And you will win your second tenure outstandingly because you are carrying the grace of double portion.
God will continue to uphold you with His righteous right hand. The grace of God that you carry will scatter the camp of your political enemies and opponents and even while you are sleeping, God’s Angels will be awake fighting your battles.
Your Excellency, my brother, friend, and Boss, I wish you Happy New Year and Birthday 2026. May God grant you good health, long and abundant life, and all your good heart desires throughout today, tomorrow and everyday of this 2026 and for very many years to come in serenity of body and mind.
