A civil society group, The Osun Masterminds (TOM), has alleged that the Osun State Government has neglected governance in pursuit of its 2026 reelection agenda.
According to the group, the governor is rarely seen or heard, reflecting a decline in visible leadership.
The group made this known on Saturday during its November State of the State address, delivered by its Executive Director, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli.
TOM called on all All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants and their supporters to maintain civility, prioritise party unity, and conduct issue-based campaigns.
It warned that campaigns of calumny could threaten party cohesion.
The group also stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and several political leaders have consistently stressed the importance of adhering to electoral laws to ensure peace and stability before, during, and after the elections.
It urged political actors in the state to comply with these calls and safeguard the unity of the state, emphasising that unity is crucial for grassroots mobilisation and reconciliation.
On local government matters, TOM expressed concern over the continued closure of local government secretariats across the state.
The group noted that this situation has hampered the delivery of essential statutory functions such as healthcare, agriculture, sanitation, and revenue generation.
