Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president has described the African Democratic Party (ADC) as Nigeria’s most dominant party.
Atiku, a two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the ADC which was only adopted as the coalition party about three weeks ago has already been positioned to take over power from the current administration.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during the unveiling and inauguration of the State ADC Executive Council, Atiku said the coalition party will take over power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Represented by Bayode Fakunl, the former vice president said that, unlike parties across the country, the ADC is set to push clear ideologies that would tackle the challenges faced by Nigeria and its people.
He said, “ADC was launched just about three weeks ago and within two weeks, it has become the most dominant party in the country and all other parties are already jittery. It is a party with ideology, peopled by those who are ready to save Nigeria, because Nigeria should not and can never be a one-party state.
“ADC is for all Nigerians, it is a party that will change the political landscape of this country and everyone is welcomed with open hands and by the grace of God, this party will take over the leadership of this country come 2027,” Atiku noted.
Recall that, as one of the leaders of the coalition aiming to oust President Bola Tinubu and the APC from power, Atiku has continued to reach out to key leaders from various political parties.
Also, since its the adoption as the coalition party, several politicians including former ministers, and aides to ex-presidents and governors have resigned their membership with key political parties to join the ADC.
