Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has warned Nigerian politicians against manipulating the outcome of the 2027 general election.
Naijaonpoint reports that the septuagenarian, in an interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica, opined that the 2027 election would be a defining moment for the country.
Charly Boy stated that anyone planning to rig the 2027 election should be prepared to face the consequences, stressing that credible elections are the only way to address poor governance.

He said, “The 2027 election will be a defining moment for Nigeria. Anybody that plans to rig should be ready to die. It is rig and die.
“Because by that time, our eye go clear well well. E don clear small o. What we are about to see in 2026 will make Nigerians decide whether to continue in this manner or to cause a revolution to happen in this country.
“The solution to bad governance in Nigeria can only come when our votes begin to count. So, our concern right now should be how our votes would count in 2027.”
Speaking about the Lagos state government’s recent decision to rename ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop’ in Bariga, Charly Boy described the move as outright silly and a bloody distraction, adding that his primary concern is how to rescue millions of Nigerians who daily go to bed hungry.
